Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s iMPAC and the Mississippi Songwriters Alliance will host a free Coastline Creators Songwriters Night at 6 p.m. July 24 at the college’s Harrison County Campus.
The event will give local artists, songwriters and students a space to perform original music, share the stories behind their songs and connect with others in the music community. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments if needed.
This is the first time MGCCC has partnered with the Mississippi Songwriters Alliance to host Coastline Creators Songwriters Night.
“Giving people the opportunity to be able to be creative in their own spaces is so important to me,” said Aaliyah Caldwell, director of HRM and Impact Business Development at MGCCC.
Students in MGCCC’s Live Entertainment Technology program will help organize and run the event’s production.
“Our live entertainment students, which is a tuition-free program here at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, get the opportunity to set up the event from beginning to end, and it offers a free event to the community,” Caldwell said.
People interested in attending or participating are encouraged to sign up through the Coastline Creators Songwriters Night Facebook page.
