There’s nothing like the warm Southern charm and hospitality of a welcoming small town. Even though the city of Laurel has gained quite some visibility and worldwide attention— thanks to the widely popular HGTV show, Home Town, hosted by Laurel citizens Ben and Erin Napier—“The City Beautiful” has not lost any of its hospitality and local charm.

You’re invited to enjoy that small-town pace and hospitality this Friday, June 18, in Laurel for the Home Town Porch Party. Come celebrate the very popular Home Town, check out some of the sites you’ve seen on the series, and enjoy all that the city has to offer. On the lawn of the famous Laurel Mercantile, you can enjoy once again some of the most popular and favorite episodes of Home Town, plus you’ll be treated to experiences and memories from homeowners that were featured in past seasons. There will be so much to enjoy for everyone in the family. From live music to shopping and sweet memories, everyone in the family will find something to do.

The party starts at 1 p.m., and you’ll be treated to a day full of screening of Home Town season five. So bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets to make for a whole day of fun. The downtown shops and boutiques will be open and you can browse all the unique and hospitable shops and maybe find a treasure to bring home from your special trip.

Take the opportunity to see the sites of this charming city and be amazed by the beauty of it all. You will definitely be in for a treat with your journey back in time as you view the historical homes nestled under the equally historical trees lining the streets, making a shady, peaceful tour.

Make your way back to Front Street at 6:00 p.m. where the main events will begin. The porch party kicks off with a very special viewing of the show’s pilot episode, featuring the Tew family. You’ll also be treated to the fabulous story of how Home Town was started and their journey to revitalize the city of Laurel.

Following the replay of the pilot episode, live interviews with homeowners, as well as personalities from the show, will take place. Then, at 8:00 p.m., the live music begins!

Come enjoy the fun and hospitality in the charming hometown of Laurel and see what it’s like to be captivated by small-town life. For more information about events or lodging, go to www.visitjones.com.
