Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast will celebrate the grand opening of its second ReStore on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The 16,320 square foot retail space, located at 3176 Bienville Boulevard in Ocean Springs, will be full of new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, home décor and more for sale to the public at a fraction of the retail price. There will be a live radio remote broadcast, refreshments, and incredible deals throughout the day.

Habitat Mississippi Gulf Coast is leasing the former Fred’s Pharmacy location in the Parkside Square Shopping Center. The ReStore will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will provide free donation pickup across the Mississippi Coast. Funds raised by the ReStore help build, rehabilitate and repair homes in partnership with community stakeholders and hard working families.

“ReStores bring out the best in our communities: generous donors, engaged volunteers, and creative customers who want their purchases to make an impact,” said Wes Griffin, Habitat Mississippi Gulf Coast’s ReStore director. “Everyone would rather see their unwanted items help another local family rather than go to waste. Our free donation pickup service makes that quick and convenient, and the new ReStore location on Hwy 90 will always have high quality furniture, appliances and home improvement supplies at the lowest prices around. Every time you donate or shop, you’re supporting Habitat for Humanity’s work on the Coast.”

The new Habitat ReStore in Ocean Springs is one of the more than 900 Habitat ReStores located in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Northern Ireland. Habitat Mississippi Gulf Coast opened its first ReStore at 8022 Hwy 49 in Gulfport in April 2017. Though each Habitat for Humanity ReStore is unique, most accept donations of furniture, appliances, building supplies, home décor, cabinets, doors, windows, and lighting and plumbing fixtures.

The Ocean Springs ReStore is expected to divert about one million pounds of reusable materials from the landfill in its first year of business. Habitat ReStores rely on the generous donations of local residents and businesses to help fund our mission of providing quality, affordable housing opportunities on the Coast. To arrange a free donation pickup, call 228-678-9100.
