Fun Patriotic Cocktails for the Fourth of July

Red, white, and boozy, these July 4th-inspired cocktails will get your Independence Day rockin’…

This one is like a grownup rocket pop! (sugarspiceandglitter.com)

For the Blue Slush Layer: 2 cups ice, 2 oz. Blue Curacao, 1 cup homemade lemonade

For the White Slush Layer: 2 cups ice, 2 oz. Smirnoff Red, White & Berry, 1 cup homemade lemonade

For the Red Slush Layer: 1 ¼ cups strawberries, quartered, 2 oz. Smirnoff Red, White & Berry vodka, ¼ cup of homemade lemonade

Instructions: Blend each layer separately until smooth. Store in freezer until ready to build your cocktail. Pour each layer into a highball glass and serve immediately.

Tips: Use a high-speed blender and start on low. A high-speed blender will make quick use of those ice cubes (and any frozen fruit) but avoid the temptation to immediately start at a high speed as that can make the slushy too runny.

Use frozen fruit. Frozen fruit will help keep this slushy thick and frozen longer.

Freeze your liquids. While vodka doesn’t freeze, if I have time, I like to freeze the lemonade into ice cubes before making the recipe.

To keep these layers perfect, avoiding assembling the cocktails until just ready to serve. You can keep these slushies frozen in the freezer for up to 2 months.

This one is super simple to make and is (again) incorporating the rocket pop! Freutcake.com

Ingredients: Champagne or prosecco, rocket popsicle (or any red, white or blue popsicle is fine)

Instructions: Place popsicle in a cocktail glass. Top with champagne and serve immediately.

For those with a sweet tooth, this shake is the bomb.com. (delish.com)

Ingredients: 6 scoops vanilla ice cream, 6 tbsp. Milk, Divided, 1 oz. Curaçao, 1 oz. vodka, 3 scoops raspberry sorbet, 1 oz. raspberry vodka, Red, white and blue sprinkles, for garnish

Instructions: In a blender, combine 3 scoops vanilla ice cream, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1-ounce Curaçao. Blend until creamy and pour into two glasses. Freeze 15 to 20 minutes.Rinse blender and add 3 scoops vanilla ice cream, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1 ounce vodka. Blend until combined, then pour into glasses on top of blue layer and freeze 15 to 20 minutes.Rinse blender and add 3 scoops raspberry sorbet, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1 ounce raspberry vodka. Blend until combined, then pour onto white layer.Top each shake with whipped cream and garnish with sprinkles

It wouldn’t be the Fourth of July without the fireworks- Firecracker Martini (Greygoose.com)

Instructions: Shake all and strain into a well-chilled glass. Garnish with grapefruit zest.

What’s more American than apple pie? This drink will surely be a smash at your patriotic get-together. American Pie Cocktail (foodnetwork.com)

Ingredients: 2 cups ice, 1/2 cup whiskey, 1/2 cup apple liqueur, 1 cup cranberry juice, and Sliced apples, for garnish.

Instructions: Add to shaker, ice, Canadian whiskey, apple liqueur, and cranberry juice. Pour into 2 rocks glasses, garnish with a slice of apple, if using, and serve.
