Extra Table FEEDS has launched its inaugural Donor Celebration Week September 21 through September 27, a seven-day statewide campaign honoring the people whose generosity keeps nutritious food moving to Mississippi communities. Donor support allows the organization to purchase $105,000 in food each month for 70 food pantry and soup kitchen partners across the state.
The celebration comes at a time when pantry partners are seeing more neighbors ask for help and dependable food deliveries matter more than ever. Extra Table FEEDS purchases new, nutritious, shelf-stable foods such as rice, beans, peanut butter, fruit, vegetables, soup, tuna and oats, then delivers them directly to partner organizations at no cost ever to the organization. The nonprofit accepts ZERO government funding, and 100 percent of public donations purchase food.
“Every delivery begins with a donor who believes a Mississippi neighbor should have good food on the table,” said Martha Allen Price, executive director of Extra Table FEEDS. “Our donors are the reason we can purchase $105,000 in food every month, deliver it consistently and say yes when another community asks for help. This week is our chance to show donors exactly where their generosity goes and thank them for making the table bigger.”
This year, that generosity has seven new addresses. Extra Table FEEDS sets a goal of adding three pantry partners annually, but donors have already funded seven new partners in 2026. Those additions extend reliable food support to more communities and bring the organization’s statewide network to 70 partners.
Throughout Donor Celebration Week, Extra Table FEEDS will share videos, stories and behind-the-scenes glimpses of what donor support makes possible – from food purchases and truck deliveries to stocked pantry shelves and groceries headed home with families. The campaign will also invite supporters to answer a simple question: What is your why? Donors will be encouraged to share the experiences, people and beliefs that inspire them to give.
