    Belhaven’s Project Dance Jackson Offers Colorful Performances and Hourly “Flash Mobs” at LeFleur’s Bluff

    Free open-air concert will feature dancers from across the United States

    WHAT:
    Belhaven University will host a free open-air dance concert as part of Project Dance Jackson. The event will feature local and national artists performing ballet, jazz, modern dance, hip-hop, tap, and other dance styles.

    A special “flash mob” performance will take place every hour on the hour, providing energetic and visually engaging opportunities for television footage, photography, and social media coverage.

    WHEN:
    Saturday, October 3, 2026
    10:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
    Flash mobs will occur every hour on the hour.

    WHERE:
    The Den at LeFleur’s Bluff Complex
    Near the Mississippi Children’s Museum
    Jackson, Mississippi

    WHO:
    Scheduled performers include:

    • Open Sky Arts Collective of Dallas, Texas
    • Ad Deum Dance of Houston, Texas
    • Glorify Performing Arts of West Chester, Pennsylvania
    • Ballet Magnificat! Events Company of Jackson
    • Belhaven University Dance Department
    • Additional local and national dance artists

    VISUAL OPPORTUNITIES:

    • Hourly flash mob performances
    • Outdoor ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and tap performances
    • Dancers from across the United States
    • Audience interaction in a colorful outdoor setting
    • Interviews with performers and event organizers
    • Interview opportunities with Krista Bower, dean of Belhaven University’s School of Fine Arts and chair and professor of dance

    ABOUT THE EVENT:
    Project Dance Jackson is a three-day event hosted by Belhaven University that brings together dance students and professionals for performances, master classes, an industry expo, auditions, inspirational gatherings, and networking opportunities.

    Project Dance has appeared in more than 30 cities worldwide, including London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, Toronto, and New York City. Jackson is one of six host cities in 2026, joining Buenos Aires, Houston, New York, Paris, and Atlanta.

    The open-air concert is free and open to the public.
