The City of Pascagoula’s Beach Pier Plaza is scheduled for renovations beginning the week of May 29 and will be closed until the end of July.

Crews will be removing the current access to the pier to construct ADA compliant ramp to the pier. Residents should proceed with caution in this area.

The new Beach Pier will have a large plaza style boardwalk, at the same height as the existing promenade, with composite decking. The plaza will include low-level lighting, picnic areas, landscaping, pedestals for public art and an ADA access ramp to the water. There will also be a new entrance on the south side of Beach Park for ADA access to the promenade path and sand for people of all abilities.

JE Borries Construction was awarded the contract for this project. The total project cost is approximately a little over $300,000 with HUD Economic Development Initiative monies funding this specific construction of the beach promenade project.

Due to the grant being utilized for this project, the city is required to complete this project by the end of July.
