    Baseball Set to Play at Auburn Regional

    HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss baseball heads to Auburn, Ala. for the 2023 NCAA Auburn Regional, hosted by the Auburn Tigers. The Golden Eagles earned the Sun Belt Conference’s automatic bid to the postseason by defeating Louisiana 6-2 in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship.

    The Golden Eagles (41-17, 22-8 Sun Belt) will be the second-seeded team of the 2023 Auburn Regional and will face No. 3 seed and SoCon Tournament Champion, Samford (36-23, 15-6 Southern) on Friday, June 2, at 1 p.m. The game can be seen on ESPN+ and heard through an affiliate of the Southern Miss Sports Network.

    The host and No. 13 national seed Auburn will take on No. 4 seed Penn at 6 p.m. A full schedule of the 2023 NCAA Auburn Regional is available below.

    Southern Miss returns to the NCAA Regionals for the 19th time in program history and ninth time under head coach Scott Berry. The 2023 season marks the seventh-straight postseason appearance for the Golden Eagles and their second trip to Auburn for a regional, last making playing at Plainsman Park in 2010.

    The winner of the Auburn Regional will face off against the winner of the Clemson Regional in a Super Regional next weekend. The Clemson Regional includes No. 4 national seed Clemson, (2) Tennessee, (3) Charlotte and (4) Lipscomb.

    Game Two – (1) Auburn vs. (4) Penn – 6 p.m.

    Game Four – Winner Game One vs. Winner Game Two – 8 p.m.
    Sunday, June 4
    Game Five – Winner Game Three vs. Loser Game Four – 2 p.m.
    Game Six – Winner Game Four vs. Winner Game Five – 8 p.m.
    Monday, June 5
    Game Seven (If necessary) – Same teams as Game Six – TBD
