A $175,000 donation from the IP Casino Resort Spa will allow the Bacot McCarty Foundation to give more and host more fabulous events, leaders say.

“Their donations to the foundation alone total almost $2.5 million,” said Todd Trenchard, executive director of the Bacot McCarty Foundation. “IP has donated literally over $20 million to local causes, which has made an incredible difference in all the communities of South Mississippi.”

The far-reaching effects of the IP’s generosity are felt across the coast.

“I think IP’s continued support of local agencies speaks volumes about their corporation’s commitment to this region,” Trenchard said. “They obviously are the undisputed leader in philanthropic efforts along the coast, and their trust in our organization is certainly appreciated and not taken lightly.”

The Bacot McCarty Foundation will put its funds to use through donations and expanding partnerships.

“With the funds we have received, we are able to not only give out much more money to local causes, we are able to coordinate and present some of the largest events in our region where we continue to build relationships and partnerships,” Trenchard said.

The Bacot McCarty Foundation’s annual Renaissance the Runway Fashion Show will be held January 24 and the beloved Jolly will be April 17-18.

Other businesses that want to get involved with the Bacot McCarty Foundation should call Trenchard directly at 228-217-5791.

“Agencies and causes (should) peruse our website and see if what they do fits within our mission of addressing the needs of youth, education and the cultural arts,” he said. Trenchard said he’s thankful for the support the foundation receives each year.

“We cannot thank our supporters enough as we have been able to accomplish so much because of their involvement,” he said. “We certainly have the preeminent board in the region, and our volunteers are without peer. I’ve been blessed to steer the ship, but it’s their efforts that keep this entire thing going.”
