On Friday, May 17, Mississippi-based singer-songwriter Zachariah Smith released his latest heartfelt single “Rainy Days,” a beautiful blend of soulful vocals and touching lyrics. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, this track promises to resonate with country music fans and audiences worldwide.

In reflecting on his journey and the invaluable lessons he has learned along the way, Smith knows that his resilience, optimism, determination, and his faith in God, have contributed to making his dreams come true.

“Rainy Days is deeply personal to me,” said Zachariah Smith. “We must remember to find strength during tough times and embrace the unknown with optimism and faith.”

“Rainy Days” is dedicated to the memory of Shelly Summerford, who Smith refers to an ‘Angel on Earth’ for her dedication and care for their entire community, and for her interest in making sure Smith always had everything he needed to succeed on the stage and in life.

“Shelly taught me you can weather the storms that come for you, and you will make it through the difficult times,” said Smith. “Shelly was a guiding light for me, and her spirit lives on in this song.”

Smith was a Top 5 Finalist on American Idol’s Season 21. It is Smith’s charisma, compassion, and exceptional talent and vocals, that continue to capture the hearts of everyone he encounters. Smith’s performance of “I Want to Know What Love Is,” on American Idol, was so exceptional that it caught the attention of the legendary band “Foreigner”, who invited Zachariah to share the stage with them during their farewell tour in Nashville.

“Being on American Idol was a dream come true, and I am so grateful for all of the opportunities since my time on the show,” said Smith. “I have grown so much, and this release of “Rainy Days” delivers relatable themes and a message that can inspire all of us to live our lives for a greater purpose.”

Smith, known for previous singles “American Grace,” which made it to number 9 on the Country Now iTunes chart, and “Midnight in Mississippi,” now delves deeper into faith and his commitment to God with this release of “Rainy Days,” which is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Smith is solidifying his place as a promising talent in the music industry and is excited to announce that three more singles are expected to be released by summer’s end, with “That’s Where the Party’s at” for your enjoyment over the July 4th holiday, “Nothin’ is Better than You,” and “God I Love That.”
