A Coastal Favorite for Coffee, Conversation, and Comfort Food

The number and variety of restaurants along the Mississippi Gulf Coast is impressive. From fine dining to Greek, Vietnamese, and Korean cuisine—along with classic po-boy shops—there is truly something for every taste. Among these standouts is The Greenhouse Biloxi, located on Ohr Street just off Howard Avenue.

Originally opened in Ocean Springs a decade ago, The Greenhouse made the move to Biloxi about five years ago and has since become a favorite local spot. Part coffee shop, part casual restaurant, it offers a relaxed atmosphere paired with a thoughtfully crafted menu.

The Greenhouse is especially well known for its homemade biscuits, breakfast offerings, and daily soups. The breakfast menu includes four biscuit-based egg “sammies,” five breakfast plates—including quiche and a popular biscuit-and-lox combination—and a selection of hearty options to start the day. The lunch menu features eight sandwiches, with the smoked salmon and avocado toast standing out as a guest favorite.

For those looking to take something home, house-made pimento cheese and chicken salad are popular choices. Guests are also encouraged to check out the rotating sweet and savory biscuits of the day.

The clientele is a mix of casino visitors and local regulars, creating a welcoming, social environment. Whether stopping in for lunch, coffee, or a quick bite, The Greenhouse is the kind of place where conversations often start naturally between tables. The restaurant also offers catering services, making it a convenient option for gatherings and events.

An outdoor improvement project is currently underway to enhance the nearby alley—known locally as Bacon Alley for its mural-covered brick wall. Plans include additional seating and a pass-through window, allowing guests to order or pick up items without going inside.

In addition to coffee and food, The Greenhouse also serves adult beverages, including a well-loved Bloody Mary.

For anyone looking for a comfortable place to relax, enjoy quality food and coffee, and experience a bit of Biloxi’s local charm, The Greenhouse Biloxi is well worth a visit.
