The Jackson-George Regional Library Board announced a return to service starting Monday, March 1, 2021. The plan allows libraries to limit visits to 50% capacity, increasing to 75% in the coming weeks.
Masks will be required for in-person visits. Physical distancing and health protocols will remain in place. Library administration has developed a reopening approach that includes limited, but progressively expanding services and access while following social distancing practices and safety guidelines.
Patrons are requested to return materials to outdoor book drops only. All materials will continue to be cleaned and placed in quarantine before returning to active circulation. The health and safety of all staff and visitors is a top priority. Late fees will resume beginning March 1, 2021. For payments, please call or visit the library for more information.
Visitors can expect modified operations such as limits to some services. Contactless check-out and services such as curbside pickup, online resource access, library by mail, and virtual programming on Facebook will continue.
Library Director Lori Barnes, said, “We would like to thank our staff, library board, and patrons for their understanding and support as we navigate the challenges related to COVID-19. Again, the health and safety of our staff and visitors is our top priority as we develop our reopening plans.”
