Just as the sun starts to settle over Gautier’s 42 foot tall Hallmark statue “Natures Playground” the music is revving up. Family and friends started as soon as the road was closed at 5 p.m., staking out places for lawn chairs, situating coolers and preparing for a good time. Heads up … the Admission is FREE! Picnics are welcome, but if you don’ have the time to prepare one, you can always chow down on a couple of food trucks present.
Kids and adults alike were dancing in the streets. Even the copper creatures on the statue appeared to be rockin’ to the music. It’s a family-friendly, fun and relaxing event.
Every fourth Friday of the month, just east of Lowes and north of the Singing River Mall Property the music festival happens from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There is ample parking on the old Singing River Mall, with just a short hike to the roundabout.
The concerts are a part of a four-month series sponsored by the City of Gautier and Petro Chevrolet Cadillac. (Check out a couple of new vehicles displayed at the music stand!) The events started in August. September’s featured artist was Jamie Hyatt (https://www.facebook.com/jamiehyattmusic/). We found the artists’ talent and range of offerings to be quite refreshing. It was a nice change of pace and an opportunity to enjoy the musical talents of these gifted performers.
