The public is invited to attend a free WaterWays Smithsonian program “Makers Corner: Bousillage for Kids” offered at the Pascagoula Public Library on Saturday, October 27, at 3:30 p.m. Join us in front of the library and find out what is “bousillage”. Get ready to get dirty and learn. The LaPointe-Krebs House and Museum will be offering hands-on demonstrations on how the early settlers made Bousillage. Bousillage is a clay mixture that was used to build houses. Be sure to stop by the Pascagoula Library and learn through doing at this one of a kind program. This free program is presented by the Signing River Genealogy – Local History Library. For more information, call 769-3078. The Pascagoula library is located at 3214 Pascagoula Street near downtown. For more information on public programs during the WaterWays exhibit, visit https:N2RH20.com. Community partners for the project include; Grand Bay National Estuarine Research and Reserve, MS-AL Sea Grant, Friends of the OS Library, Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center, Singing River Genealogy-Local History Library, USM GCRL Marine Education Center and Gunter Library, The Land Trust for the MS Coastal Plain, Biloxi Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, Walter Anderson Museum of Art, Loyalty Systems, LLC and Coffee News of South MS. For more information about the libraries, visit the library website at www.jgrls.org.
