Have you seen the state’s branding initiative called Genuine MS? If so, you might have wondered what exactly it is.
Genuine MS is a proud state label available to farmers, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and artists who have grown, raised, and made their products right here in Mississippi. Made possible by the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC), Genuine MS currently has four major classifications: Grown, Raised, Crafted, and Made.
Since its founding in July 2018, the purpose of Genuine MS has been to increase public awareness of Mississippi’s farm, food, crafted, and fabricated products by making them part of the program’s branding.
The program’s website serves as a centralized location for members’ products, connecting consumers with the people and places that grow, raise, craft, and make Genuine MS products.
Genuine MS already has an extensive list of featured companies including Pearl River Tea Company, Flathau’s Fine Foods, Bass Pecan Company, Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company, and A Complete Flag Source.
