Mother’s Day is just around the corner. The holiday has its roots in the early 1900s, which was when Anna Reeves Jarvis had a memorial service to celebrate her late mother. Anna held the first Mother’s Day celebration in 1908 at a Methodist church in West Virginia. Jarvis, as well as other women, launched a letter-writing campaign in 1912, in the hopes of making Mother’s Day an actual holiday. President Woodrow Wilson signed a measure in 1914 that officially established the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day.

Given that Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 9, here are some ideas to help you out if you’re still looking for a gift:

    1. Shower Steamers

You can put one of these in the corner of your shower to create your own relaxation via the aromas of essential oils and nature-identical fragrance! This set includes six shower melts (flavors include lavender, peppermint, vanilla & sweet orange, menthol & eucalyptus, pomegranate & rose, and lemongrass & coconut). There is also a free ebook on aromatherapy that comes with this set! Purchase your Shower Steamers right here.

    2. Personalized Star Map

You’re able to choose your Star Map with your preferred size (8×10 inches, 11×14 inches, or 16×20 inches), print options, and with or without the frame. For Mother’s Day, you might choose the constellation of stars for the day she became a mother or for that particular Mother’s Day! Get your gift here.

    3. Our First Mother’s Day Outfit for Mom and Baby

For those who are having their first Mother’s Day, this is an awesome gift! It comes with a t-shirt for mom and a matching bodysuit for the baby. There are different colors that you can choose from as well. You can find your set here.

    4. Mother’s Day Fill-in-the-Blank Journal

This is definitely a unique gift with great reviews on Amazon! This journal has fill-in-the-blank lines to describe why your mom is the best, making it a personalized gift that your mom can come back to again and again. This is a gift that can be given by those of all ages! Buy What I Love About Mom right here.

    5. Personalized Framed Gift for Mother

The prints are made on high-quality luster paper that should last for years! You can choose a frame or unframed option, or a matted or non-matted option. You can choose an 8×10, 11×14, or 16×20 frame. If this is the right gift for your mom, shop here.

    6. Mama Bear Personalized Tumbler

You can personalize this tumbler with up to 10 Cubs (can be the names of kids, nieces, nephews, etc., or anyone dear to mama’s heart) and 13 colors. Mom can use this tumbler for her favorite hot or cold drink that she can take anywhere! Get this tumbler for mom right here.

    7.Personalized Wooden Sign for Mom

You are able to personalize the hearts with names (up to 25), as well as the saying on the bottom. The wood can be stained, or you can choose to have it with no stain. Get yours here.

Final Thoughts on Mother’s Day Gifts

I hope these ideas help! I chose to look for more unique or personalized gifts that you can give to mom this Mother’s Day. Enjoy the day with your mom!

I am married, and I also have a 4-year-old daughter. I earned my Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, and I have been teaching psychology classes over the past 10 years. As a professor and as a parent, I grew to love learning anything about child development. I recently turned that into a passion for helping other parents by starting my own blog at http://www.nurturingtamra.com.
