The Gulf Coast Winter Classic is back in 2022!

The Mississippi Gulf Coast will be jumping with excitement. For six weeks, riders and their horses compete at the Harrison County Fairgrounds & Equestrian Center in Gulfport. The six-week horse jumping show starts February 16 and runs through March 27, 2022.

Visitors can stroll around the Harrison County Fairgrounds, visit the horse stall area, purchase riding gear at the shop, watch the riders prepare, and take in the beautifully kept grounds. The horses are magnificent, making it a special experience to get such an up-close view of these animals.

“We are thrilled to be back in Gulfport, to offer the best horse jumping event in the state,” Lisa Engel, sponsorship and public relations for the event, said. “This year is looking to be great. There is no entrance fee to watch, and the Grand Prix Field each Sunday is the place to be.”

An audience favorite, the Sunday jumping show starts at 2 p.m. with the grounds opening at 8 a.m., so come on out early. Spectators will experience Olympic-caliber competition as riders and horses take on the challenge. The horses perform through a series of obstacles during the equestrian competition for cash prizes. Your adrenaline will be racing as the horses round the track for this timed event.

    Admission is free.
