    Prep hoops: Girls state playoff action tips off Monday night with 16 “Southern Six” squads in the mix

    The state playoffs on the girls’ side of the ledger tip-off Monday night across the state of Mississippi and there are 16 teams representing the “Southern Six” in action this week.

    First-round action begins with the second seeds from various respective regions hosting the third seeds from various respective regions on Monday night for the most part but a few will take place on Tuesday when the boys join the fray.

    Here is the Mississippi High School Association’s first-round playoff schedule for teams in the “Southern Six”. All games are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
