Pass Christian stayed unbeaten in the second week of action in Region 8-4A play on Tuesday night.
The home-standing Pirates moved to 3-0 in league play with an exciting 3-2 win over Greene County. Southern Miss signee and senior standout Peyton Lacy came up big for Pass Christian in the win as he hurled the first seven stanzas on the hill striking out 13 Wildcats and also smacked a two-run home run. Dylan Welter picked up the win with one frame of relief work and he also had a key hit. Brendan Necaise recorded the game-winning RBI with a bases-loaded walk.
Pass Christian is now 11-4 overall, and is set to travel to Leakesville fir the region rematch Friday night. The contest on Tuesday night was the league opener for Greene County.

Also on Tuesday night, visiting Stone High traveled to Moss Point and tripped up the Tigers 11-1 in Region 8-4A play as well. The win moves the Tomcats to 2-1 in league play as they sit in the second spot in the region race just behind Pass Christian and just ahead of Bay High at 1-1 after Stone and Bay split their two-game series last week.
In the win over Moss Point, Willie Breland popped a pair of doubles and drove in a pair of runs for the Tomcats while S.T. Maust also collected two RBIs with a base hit. Owen Spooner scored three runs for Stone, while Daylon Collins, Chaz Collins, Braxton Jones and Conner Tice all drove in a run apiece for the Tomcats in the winning effort.
Tice, also the standout Stone quarterback, tossed a complete game two-hit performance on the mound to pick up the win striking out nine and walking two in the process.
Ryan Smith started and took the loss for Moss Point, and he also had one of the two Tiger singles in the game off of Trice. The Tigers stand 0-3 in the region race after being swept by league-leading Pass Christian to open region play last week.
The rematch in Wiggins is also set for Friday night.
Stone was coming off an 8-6 win over D’Iberville over the weekend. The Tomcats have won four out of their last five games to move to an even 8-8 on the season.

Bay High, who has the only win over Stone in that current span, meanwhile, is off from region play this week but found another “Southern Six” foe to face in a home-and-home series in Vanclave. The Bulldogs traveled to Bay St. Louis Tuesday and came home with a 6-3 win over the home-standing Tigers.
Layton Elder has a pair of hits and drove in a game-high three runs for Vancleave, while Tyler West contributed a two-run single in the winning effort. Asher Henley collected a game-high three hits for Vancleave, and Hunter Harper added a pair of hits for the Bulldogs.
Harper hurled a complete game striking out seven to take the win, and he also allowed six hits.
The rematch at “The Landing” in Vancleave is set for Thursday night.
