Summer is coming quickly, so you may be wondering about some snacks to keep things interesting and to keep the kids fed all summer. Luckily, there are some fun and refreshing snacks that will keep the “I’m hungry!” at bay. There are some snack ideas that the kids can help make, which may make it more likely they will eat it. Here is a list of ideas for you to use all summer long!

    1. Homemade popsicles

What is summer without popsicles?!? There are lots of homemade popsicle recipes that you can try. In addition, this is something that the kids can help with.

    2. Fruit

Fruit is perfect for summer, as it is healthy and refreshing! There are lots of different variations of snacks you can make with fruit. For example, there are fruit necklaces, fruit kabobs, fruit smoothies, and fruit cups.

    3. Ants on a log

The traditional version of this consists of celery, peanut butter or cream cheese, and raisins for the ants. There are also other variations of this you may enjoy.

    4. Homemade Ice Cream

Ice cream can be made from frozen bananas, and you can blend in chocolate chips, coconut flakes, and nuts. Here’s a video about the ice cream: Homemade Banana Ice Cream.

    5. Veggies and Dip

You can pair carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, and/or green and red peppers with hummus or other dips such as homemade ranch dip.

    6.  Cherry Tomato and Mozzarella Kabobs

Tomatoes are in season during the warmer weather! You can make a refreshing snack by putting cherry tomatoes and small mozzarella cheese balls on a skewer. This is something the kids may enjoy helping with!

    7. Tortilla Chips and Salsa/Guacamole

This is a great summer snack that is also healthy! You can make homemade salsa or guacamole and pair it with some tortilla chips. Or you can buy store-bought salsa and guacamole.

    8. Turkey and Cheese Roll Up

Roll out some turkey and put some cheese on top, and then roll it up. You can use a toothpick to keep it together. You can always add some spinach or condiments to it as well.

    9. Zucchini Pizza Bites

Zucchini is a summer vegetable, so you can create small pizzas with these by using mozzarella, pizza sauce, and mini pepperonis! The kids can definitely help make these! Here’s the recipe: Mini zucchini pizza bites.

    10. Mango Banana Yogurt Muffins

These are easy to make and are a great way to use some summer mangoes! They are a great healthy choice for the kids. Here’s the recipe: Mango banana yogurt muffins.
