It is official. Hubfest is on the horizon! In less than two weeks, Hattiesburg and the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will host their first Eaglepalooza since 2019. This anticipated festival commenced nearly two decades ago. Since its founding, people from the Hattiesburg region and beyond have gathered for this annual event. Its grand reintroduction is bound to bring a huge crowd of visitors— from both near and far. 

The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) and the City of Hattiesburg are thrilled to announce the return of Eaglepalooza to downtown Hattiesburg for the first time since 2019. This highly anticipated free live music event will take place on Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m., marking an exciting start to HUBFEST weekend.

Grease, the hit Broadway rock n’ roll musical, based on the iconic film of the same name, is playing Beau Rivage this summer for a limited 18-show engagement, June 12-29.

Mardi Gras parades and celebrations are about to begin in the Magnolia State, uniting Mississippians from all corners of the state. Although Mardi Gras is traditionally more recognized in the southern part of the state, Mississippians will be excited to see some celebrations scheduled in North Mississippi, too. From the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast to Olde Town Olive Branch and many towns in between, Mississippi is ready to “Laissez les bons temps rouler!”

Renowned songwriter Craig Wiseman was presented with an honorary degree during The University of Southern Mississippi’s (USM) fall 2024 commencement ceremony set for 2 p.m. Friday, December 13, on the Hattiesburg campus.
