Check out what’s happening at the Jackson-George County Library System:

Free summer library programs for children offered on-line!

Children are invited to “Imagine Your Story” at coast libraries this summer with programs for all ages.  The Jackson-George Regional Library System summer reading programs begin June 9, on-line from the library website at www.JGRLS.org.

Parents are encouraged to pick up a free summer program kit at libraries that include a full list of on-line programs for children, activity sheets, coloring sheets, and more. Parents may also visit the library website at www.JGRLS.org/childrenSLP and download items as well.

Scheduled programs and events are: Elementary age on Tuesdays at 2 p.m.; Teens on Wednesday at 4 p.m.; and Preschool on Thursdays at 10 a.m., each week. Other scheduled programs are Monday Craft Days on June 15, June 29 and July 6, at 2 p.m.

Watch a different program video each week on the children’s page and review other information and announcements. Sign up for e-mail program reminders, too. Children are also invited to see on-line programs on Facebook at Jackson George Library or on the Library’s YouTube page.

“Because of the current COVID crisis, we have decided to place all programs on-line this year,” said JGRLS Youth Services Coordinator Bethany Carlisle.  “We hope parents will encourage children participate in exciting learning activities we have planned. Everyone can participate by picking up a Summer Library Program Kit at their library and have fun,” she said.

The Jackson-George Regional Library System is comprised of nine branch libraries serving the two counties and surrounding areas. All locations provide free access to a large collection of books, e-books, digital magazines, DVDs, audio books on CD and tape, and music CDs, Internet and free Wi-Fi; research databases, newspapers, and more. Libraries continue to serve as cultural centers, presenting the highest quality programming, exhibits, and free events for children, teens and adults of all ages.

For more information and schedules, visit the library website: Children: www.jgrls.org/childrenSLP and adults: www.jgrls.org/adultSLP, or call 228-769-3060.
