The Carnival season is upon us, but even if you can’t make it to the Gulf Coast or New Orleans, you can still take part in the festivities. If you’re in the Hub City, there are plenty of events in the Hattiesburg area to enjoy the Mardi Gras season.

The Caerus Masquerade Ball opened the Mardi Gras season this Saturday, Feb. 8. Presented by Keith’s Superstores and Magnolia Graphics, the gala was hosted at The Bottling Company in Downtown Hattiesburg. Guests were treated to finest of Cajun themed cuisine and buffet dinner, including shrimp and grits and jambalaya, a carving station, a Bananas Foster Station, King Cake, and so many more delicious delights. There were also signature New Orleans Hurricanes, daiquiris, a cash bar, and other flavorful drinks that are sure to delight.

But the Mardi Gras festivities do not stop there. Hattiesburg’s 9th Annual Caerus Mardi Gras Parade will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. The parade will be led by the Honey Island Clydesdales and the gorgeous Southern Miss Dixie Darlings. Come out and enjoy the fun and festival atmosphere and catch a few beads and other treats during this fun and exciting time. The parade kicks off beginning south from 4th Frontage Road then Hardy Street then west on Hardy Street to 38th and ending up on Morningside Drive.

Bring the family and friends and make a fabulous day for everyone. You might want to get there a while before the parade starts and enjoy some food and drinks from local vendors and restaurants. Guests are encouraged to come early and come hungry. You definitely won’t be disappointed as a bit of New Orleans tradition takes over the Hub City. The Caerus Mardi Gras Parade is one of the area’s most anticipated events of the years as it brings fun and excitement for every member of the family. This is one event you simply don’t want to miss! So put on your purple, green, and gold and enjoy the Carnival Season Hattiesburg Style.

Come enjoy the magic and enchantment that only the Mardi Gras season can bring, and you won’t have to fight the traffic in the larger cities. This is definitely a family friendly event that everyone will love. So let the Good Times Roll in the ‘Burg!
