Applications are open for artists and vendors interested in participating in Voodoo and Vaudeville, a new oddities market featuring gothic art, New Orleans-inspired food and live entertainment in downtown Ocean Springs on Feb. 12, 2027.

The market will run from 5 to 8 p.m. on the front lawn of the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Arts Center. Vendor spaces cost $40 for a 10-by-10-foot area, with applicants selected based on how their products fit the event’s theme.

The event is the latest market organized by Brandi St.Cyr, who has spent four years creating themed markets for artists and vendors offering unconventional products. St.Cyr said she hopes to provide a space for artists whose work may not fit into traditional markets.

“I want my vendors to be artists and give a spotlight to the strange and unusual folks that often don’t get into a regular show,” St.Cyr said.

St.Cyr said traditional markets often feature similar vendors and products, sometimes placing businesses selling the same items next to each other. She also expressed concerns about artificial intelligence-generated products and resold merchandise, emphasizing her preference for original artwork.

The market will feature live entertainment from St.Cyr’s co-hosts, Zach Fellman and Tressie Hirsch-Fellman. Fellman, a professional jazz musician, will perform live music, while Hirsch-Fellman, known professionally as The Bayou Boho, will present a burlesque and vaudeville performance.

Beyond showcasing vendors, St.Cyr hopes the market will bring together people from different backgrounds who share an interest in unconventional art and entertainment.

“It is a safe place for folks to come and be themselves in a safe and welcoming environment,” St.Cyr said.

The event is funded through vendor payments rather than grants, allowing participating businesses to help support its operation.

“I honestly used my vendors payments to fund the events,” St.Cyr said. “This gives them some ownership of the events as well.”

St.Cyr began organizing themed markets four years ago with the Krampus Night Market. She now hosts four markets annually, including Voodoo and Vaudeville, Midsummer Night Market and Pride Market.

Artists and vendors interested in participating can apply through the Voodoo and Vaudeville vendor application.
