With Mississippi State football season here, the university is preparing to host the popular viral sketch comedy group “SEC Shorts” for a live, special performance on campus.

As part of the university’s Lyceum Series, “SEC Shorts LIVE!” takes the stage Friday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in historic Lee Hall’s Bettersworth Auditorium—the night before the Bulldogs host the Auburn Tigers at Davis Wade Stadium.

Since launching SEC Shorts in 2014 in Birmingham, Alabama, co-creators Robert Clay and Josh Snead have built a national following by turning the biggest stories, frustrations and absurdities of Southeastern Conference football into weekly comedy sketches. Millions of fans tune in each week, making the series a Monday-after-gameday routine across the conference.

Over the years, SEC Shorts has imagined struggling football teams checking into an emergency room, programs attending group therapy, contenders fighting for seats on a College Football Playoff train and even the personification of “Hope” repeatedly breaking hearts each week. Recent sketches have tackled the rapidly changing landscape of college athletics, including the transfer portal, NIL, conference realignment and roster turnover.

“SEC Shorts LIVE!” brings that same humor off the screen with an original production created specifically for the stage. Rather than recreating online videos, the family-friendly show features stage-only material, original sketches, interactive audience games and content tailored specifically for Bulldog fans.

Tickets for SEC Shorts LIVE! are on sale now at SECShorts.com, and can be purchased online at www.lyceum.msstate.edu or by calling the MSU Center for Student Activities at 662-325-2930. If available, tickets may be purchased the day of the performance at the door.
