Pardon Our Dust: Pascagoula Public Library Nears Completion as Departments Prepare to Reopen
PASCAGOULA, MS — The Jackson-George Regional Library System is excited to share that the renovation of the Pascagoula Public Library is entering its final stretch! With the transformation nearly complete, the Singing River Genealogy and Local History Library and the Law Library are actively preparing to re-enter the building.
Shelves are now in place; books are being returned to their homes daily. Library staff and administration are carefully moving back into the refreshed space, setting the stage for an upcoming soft opening.
“We’re thrilled to see the progress and energy building as we approach the final stages,” said Angela Stewart, Director of the Jackson-George Regional Library System. “This will be a beautiful, welcoming space where our community can connect, learn, and explore local history and legal resources once again.”
The Pascagoula Satellite Library officially closed on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and will remain closed until the reopening of the renovated Pascagoula Public Library. In the meantime, patrons may visit nearby branches in Gautier or Moss Point for legal research computers and other services.

Pardon Our Dust: Pascagoula Public Library Nears Completion as Departments Prepare to Reopen
PASCAGOULA, MS — The Jackson-George Regional Library System is excited to share that the renovation of the Pascagoula Public Library is entering its final stretch! With the transformation nearly complete, the Singing River Genealogy and Local History Library and the Law Library are actively preparing to re-enter the building.
Shelves are now in place; books are being returned to their homes daily. Library staff and administration are carefully moving back into the refreshed space, setting the stage for an upcoming soft opening.
“We’re thrilled to see the progress and energy building as we approach the final stages,” said Angela Stewart, Director of the Jackson-George Regional Library System. “This will be a beautiful, welcoming space where our community can connect, learn, and explore local history and legal resources once again.”
The Pascagoula Satellite Library officially closed on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and will remain closed until the reopening of the renovated Pascagoula Public Library. In the meantime, patrons may visit nearby branches in Gautier or Moss Point for legal research computers and other services.

Vancleave Public Library Offers Free Hands-On Cooking Matters® Classes for Adults
VANCLEAVE, MS – The Vancleave Public Library is partnering with Mississippi State University Extension to present Cooking Matters®, a six-week hands-on course designed to help adults prepare healthy, affordable meals for their families.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., June 25 through July 30 at the Vancleave Public Library. Each weekly session is led by trained educators and covers essential skills like reading food labels, using a knife safely, cutting up a whole chicken, and more.
Participants also receive free groceries to take home after the first four classes to practice what they’ve learned.
