The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce – Main Street – Tourism Bureau is proud to announce the dedication of a historic marker at the L& N Train Depot, a cornerstone of our community’s rich history and entrance to downtown. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, August 14 at 10 am outside the L&N Depot, and the public is invited to attend.

The L&N Train Depot, originally constructed in 1907, has been a vital part of our community, serving as a hub for commerce, transportation, and local life. The newly installed marker will highlight its significance in shaping the economic and social fabric of Ocean Springs over the past 11 decades.

“The dedication of this historic marker is a celebration of our community’s history and a reminder of the Depot’s important role in our community,” says Cynthia Sutton, President & CEO of the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce – Main Street – Tourism Bureau. “We are thrilled to honor this Mississippi designated landmark and its contribution to our local history.”

The event will feature a brief ceremony, including remarks, and a special unveiling of the marker. Light refreshments will be served, and attendees will have the opportunity to explore the Depot and check out the updated Visitors Center.

    Date: Wednesday, August 14
