Willie Nelson has announced new dates for his on-going and ever-evolving “Outlaw Music Festival Tour 2023”, and the state of Mississippi is getting two shows in October.

The country music legend will bring the show with some of his musical friends to The Brandon Amphitheater on Friday, October 13th and BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove in Southaven the next day on Saturday, Oct. 14th.

The addition of those two shows, along with three more dates in neighboring Alabama, was announced by Nelson’s camp on Monday. Tickets for all five shows go on sale later this week.

“An additional 16 shows have been added for the fall of 2023 as part of the 2023 Outlaw Music Festival Tour presented by Wheatley Vodka,” Organizers said in a press in a press release. “The 2023 Outlaw tour continues the celebration of Willie’s legendary life and legacy in his milestone 90th birthday year. For the largest-ever Outlaw tour to date, Willie’s bringing his family and friends on the road for a can’t miss lineup of summer and fall shows.”

The tour will now take place between June and November and will now consist of 32 shows which is double the amount of the 16 initial shows announced back earlier this year.

“I can’t wait to be on the road with the amazing group of artists joining us on this year’s Outlaw Music Festival Tour,” said Nelson. “It is always a great day of music and fun with family, friends, and incredible fans, and even more special this year in celebration of my 90th birthday.”

This year’s roster of the tour will also feature Gov’t Mule, Marcus King, Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, Trampled By Turtles, Elizabeth Cook, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Kathleen Edwards, Flatland Cavalry, Kurt Vile And The Violators, Brittney Spencer, Whiskey Myers, and Particle Kid performing in select cities.

The line-up for both shows in Mississippi is the same: Willie Nelson & Family, The Avett Brothers, Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, Elizabeth Cook, Particle Kid.

That will also be the line-up for the shows in Huntsville, Ala., at the Orion Amphitheater on Oct.,11th and just outside of Birmingham at Oak Mountain Amphitheater on Oct. 14th. The only show on the trek of the deep south with a different line-up is the first show of the run at Orange Beach Amphitheater in Orange Beach, Ala., on Oct., 8th when Gov’t Mule replaces Mike Campbell.

The first leg of the tour starts on June 23 in Somerset, Wisconsin The tireless singer Nelson, who will have turned 90 by the time the tour starts, just released his 99th studio album, “I Don’t Know a Thing About Love” comprised entirely of songs written by Harlan Howard, who gave Nelson his first job as a songwriter.

The inaugural Outlaw Music Festival debuted in 2016 in Scranton, PA. The sold-out show was so successful that marked the beginning of the annual musical event that each year brings thousands together to hear Nelson and his friends.

Icons like Robert Plant, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, ZZ Top, Eric Church, Bonnie Raitt, Chris Stapleton and Sheryl Crow have been a part of the now-recurring Outlaw Tour.
