    Prep hoops: Boys state playoff action tips off Tuesday night with 17 “Southern Six” squads in the mix

    The state playoffs on the boys’ side of the ledger tip-off Monday night across the state of Mississippi and there are 17 teams representing the “Southern Six” in action this week.

    First-round action begins with the second seeds from various respective regions hosting the third seeds from various respective regions on Tuesday night. The winners from Tuesday night (as well as the girls’ winning teams from Monday and Tuesday) advance into action Friday (girls) and Saturday (boys).

    Here is the Mississippi High School Association’s first-round playoff schedule. All games are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
