It’s beginning to look a lot like the most stressful time of the year, so give yourself the gift of stress management. Take control of the holiday stress with tips from natural medicine professionals during the FREE Stress Buster Expo at the Pascagoula River Audubon Center.

On Saturday, Nov. 2, join students from the Medical Herbalism class from 1 to 2:30 p.m. as they share tips on ways to reduce stress using natural methods. Lin Porter, an herbalist with a Master of Science in therapeutic herbalism with a post-master’s certificate in clinical herbalism, said the goal of the expo is to provide the public with an opportunity to engage with natural medicine professionals on the subject of stress reduction.

“Attendees will acquire stress management techniques in ways to reduce stress,” Porter said. “Addressing how the body responds to stress is relevant at any time of year.  However, many people express that the onset of the holiday season elevates their physical and emotional stress levels.”

During the free expo, the group will share stress management techniques using herbs, essential oils and bodywork.  The presenters include herbalists, aromatherapists, Reiki masters, massage/energy therapists, and horticulturists.

“This group of professionals share an interest in helping people to find natural ways to improve their lives,” Porter said. “Now is the time for people to give themselves the gift of how to manage stress—a gift that will last far beyond this holiday season.”

All of the presenters are currently seeking certification of Professional Naturopath through the Southern Institute of Natural Health.
