5 Best Healthy Places to Eat On the Go in Hattiesburg

I know as a parent and as a full-time worker, I get very busy. Thus, I’m always looking for something easy to either cook or get on the go. However, I try to avoid fast food as much as possible, so I can stay healthy. In my time living in Hattiesburg, I have found some great healthy places that are quick and good! If you are ever in the area, check out these awesome places!

    1.Hibachi Express

3205 Hardy Street, Suite 20, Hattiesburg, MS 39401

This is a great Japanese place, and it has a drive-through. One huge plus is that it’s relatively inexpensive! They have items ranging from Hibachi dishes (chicken, steak, shrimp) to teriyaki rice bowls. They also have appetizers that include dumplings, egg rolls, and cheese wontons.

    2.McAlister’s Deli

2300 Hardy St, Hattiesburg, MS 39401

They don’t have a drive-through, but you can call ahead and pick it up or you can get it delivered. They have all kinds of sandwiches, soups, salads, and potatoes, as well as awesome desserts! My favorite part of this place is you can get flavored, unsweetened (and sweet) tea! Typically, they are quick if I come in and order food and wait for it.

    3.The Salad Station

    6169 US Highway 98, Hattiesburg, MS 39402

This is a quick place to get a great salad! You can make your own salad with a variety of ingredients (keep in mind they price your salad by weight). You are also able to get soup and potatoes if you so desire.

    4.Which Wich

    6109 US-98 #60, Hattiesburg, MS 39402

This is a great sandwich place, and it’s relatively quick to get food! I enjoy their sandwiches a lot! You get to build your own sandwich, and you can pair it with chips and a drink as well. You can go in and eat, or you can order online, drive up, and they will bring your food to you. It’s definitely a must-try!

    5.Glory Bound Gyro Company

    Website: Glory Bound Gyro

    6174 US Highway 49, Hattiesburg, MS 39401

You can order a variety of different kinds of gyros, as well as salads and pizzas. I have to say everything is good here! One interesting aspect of this restaurant is that they have different flavors of hummus such as garlic-basil, roasted red pepper, and Mediterranean-olive (and original of course). They’ve always been quick as well.

Final Thoughts on Healthy Places to Eat on the Go

I hope these ideas help. If you’re ever in the area, definitely give them a try! They are all healthy, and I have experienced them as both quick and easy!

I am married, and I also have a 4-year-old daughter. I earned my Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, and I have been teaching psychology classes over the past 10 years. As a professor and as a parent, I grew to love learning anything about child development. I recently turned that into a passion for helping other parents by starting my own blog at http://www.nurturingtamra.com.
