NBC, alongside producers Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Cooper Manning, and Richard Rein, plans to revive “College Bowl,” a quiz show in which two teams of three students battle for scholarship money.

After a 50-year hiatus, the show will be hosted by Peyton and premiere on Tuesday, June 22 at 10 p.m.

As natural with the involvement of the Mannings, both Ole Miss and the University of Tennessee will be two of 12 schools competing for a total of $1 million in scholarships. The other schools included are Alabama, Auburn, Columbia, Michigan, Minnesota, Morehouse, Southern California, UCLA, Virginia, and Xavier of Louisiana.

The show will consist of a bracketed tournament and answer questions from a wide variety of categories—not just sports. The top two schools will eventually go head-to-head for the Capitol One College Bowl trophy and a scholarship going towards their education.

The original College Bowl started on the radio in 1953 before moving to the screen in 1959. The show was aired on NBC stations from 1963-1970. For more information on the show’s revival, click here to watch this video from Southern Living.
