Make your list, check it twice and think of the Pascagoula River Audubon Center to purchase unique, one-of-a-kind gifts this year and experience nature.

Admission to the Center is being waived during the Holiday Marketplace taking place during Christmas by the River in Moss Point on Saturday, Dec. 7. Captain Benny McCoy will also be offering 30-minute marsh tours for $10 per person between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., guests can shop new items added to the Hidden Heron Gift shop, but other vendors will be on hand as well for your shopping needs. Ruth Kimbrough will be on hand with some of her newest watercolor art pieces, and Josh Little will have a variety of stained glass pieces for sale. Wanda Norton will have wreaths and topiaries, among other things, and Crazy A’s Pottery will have items available as well.

As an added bonus, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Don Smith and Larry Leake will be providing Christmas tunes and the big guy in the red suit will be available for Selfies with Santa from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Boy Scout Hut.

A special holiday house for children will also be open featuring inexpensive items to purchase for family members along with complimentary gift wrapping.

“Christmas by the River is always a big hit in Moss Point, so we wanted to take part in the festivities as well,” said Center Manager Susan Stachowski. “We enjoy being part of Moss Point’s downtown festivities, and our Holiday Marketplace gives guests another destination during the event.”

Glass-blowing demonstrations by Solange Ledwith will take place in the picnic area of the Center creating Christmas ornaments.
