According to Victory, a veteran-owned company that measures a college or university’s commitment to creating opportunities for the military community, ten Mississippi schools have been named among the nation’s best.

The schools honored were Hind Community College, Jackson State, Meridian Community College, Mississippi College, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Mississippi State, Mississippi University for Women, Northwest Mississippi Community College, and Ole Miss.

Leading the way was Southern Miss, Mississippi State, and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, which also was the highest-rated community college on the list, as all three landed in the top ten. Ole Miss was one of 53 colleges to be awarded gold status.

“Serving the men and women who serve and have served our nation is a privilege. We are proud of our commitment to the military and are honored that MGCCC has been ranked as the best community college for our military families for the second year in a row,” said MGCCC president Dr. Mary S. Graham.

The 2021-2022 Military Friendly Schools list was evaluated using public data sources from a proprietary survey that over 1,200 schools participated in. To view the full rankings, click here.
