It took longer than any other win Biloxi has picked up so far in this young season, but the Indians rallied in extra innings and remained unbeaten with a 10-7 win over home-standing St. Martin Tuesday night.
With the victory, Biloxi moved to 9-0 as the Indians get set to begin play as the main host in the annual “Battle at the Beach” 10-day event.
The Yellow Jackets actually jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning but the Indians tied things up plating two runs in the fourth.
Biloxi then took the lead with a run in the top of the next frame, but SMHS rallied in the bottom of the seventh stanza to knot things up at 3-3 and send the contest into extra innings.
Each team scored two runs apiece in the eighth inning, and neither scored in the ninth. The Indians then erupted for five runs in the top of the 10th frame and held on for the win as the Yellow Jackets tallied two runs in the bottom of the inning.
