Hotel Tupelo officially opened its doors on February 1. The four-story, 79-room boutique hotel is now another focal point of downtown Tupelo.

The name, “Hotel Tupelo,” is a nod to the past as a Hotel Tupelo once stood downtown, and its Blue Room was where the Community Development Foundation began in the 1940s.

A new Hotel Tupelo now stands downtown with big city vibes, simple and sophisticated designs, and of course, local charm.

Hotel Tupelo adds energy to the Mississippi tourism scene through modern Southern hospitality. It is a must-see and must-stay from a comfortable private dining room to an expansive outdoor balcony overlooking Main Street.

A boutique hotel is a smaller property individually branded with its own “personality.” These hotels are usually built in a unique setting with upscale yet inviting accommodations. Hotel Tupelo is certainly no exception to these rules.

The boutique hotel has 79 rooms featuring two premier suites. The first suite is appropriately called the King’s Suite and includes Elvis-themed photos, books, and decor. Touches of the King’s flair can also be seen throughout the hotel, including sheet music walls, mood lighting, and door hangers that say “Recording in progress” rather than the typical “Do not disturb.”

The Tupelo Suite is another premiere room offered by the hotel, and it has the same layout as The King’s Suite. This suite features local artists and authors.

Hotel Tupelo honors the city’s dedication to supporting local businesses by showcasing several locally made products. When guests check-in, they’ll receive a complimentary tasting of Mead from Queen’s Reward Meadery, the first meadery in Mississippi. Guests can also sip and enjoy Tupelo River Coffee in Midnite Pottery mugs.

Other local favorites such as Sera+Soul body butter and sugar scrub are sold in the lobby and can be added as an amenity to any reservation.

Doghouse Pantry has even created a guitar-shaped dog treat in the dog-friendly hotel’s pet package.

The beautiful lobby features a Blue Delta Jean Co. products installation, which displays the company’s threads, along with several pairs of jeans.

When guests step through the grand glass doors into the hotel’s lobby, they are instantly welcomed by the aroma of a custom scent, “magnolia cashmere,” created by RAW Furniture Co. specifically for the hotel.

Tupelo’s newest restaurant, Jobos, operates on the hotel’s first floor. This one-of-a-kind bohemian restaurant offers modern coastal cuisine and a relaxed setting with creative cocktails and local surf and turf from the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Located in the “Americana Music Triangle,” Tupelo is a small, southern city with much to offer! Hotel Tupelo’s sophisticated and intentional design embodies Tupelo’s past, present, and future and is indeed “Tupelo’s greatest hit.”
