It’s hard to believe that spring is right around the corner again. Although we are experiencing some pretty chilly weather right now, spring will be here before we know it. Contrary to popular belief, Mississippi is loaded with things to do during the spring. One of the best spring activities is the spring festivals. Thankfully, our state has an abundance of them, and it is never too early to start planning. Here are five Mississippi spring festivals to consider.

Silo Square Arts Festival

Southaven will host their Arts Festival on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. 2025 will mark their second annual festival. From local vendors, to activities for children, to live music, this festival has plenty of fun for everyone of all ages. All proceeds from the festival will benefit the Palmer Home— a faith-based organization that helps children in need of a family and community. Attending this festival will be a win-win. You’ll be having fun and will be participating in a greater cause.

HubFest

HubFest is a free, annual arts and music festival in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. It takes place in downtown Hattiesburg’s streets and parks. The festival features live music, food, arts and crafts, and a children’s area, and is one of the largest spring festivals in the South. Hubfest happens every March, and this year it is on Saturday, March 29th, from 8am-6 pm.

World Catfish Festival

The 48th Annual World Catfish Festival will take place on April 5, 2025 in Belzoni, Mississippi. If you’ve never met a Mississippian who doesn’t like catfish, you probably have not met a Mississippian. That may be slightly dramatic; however, I say this to state that Mississippi and catfish go together like peanut butter and jelly. Thankfully, this festival celebrates one of this state’s favorite cuisines. If you’re a lover of catfish, make sure to plan your visit.

Double Decker Arts Festival

Oxford swells in size the last weekend of April, as it hosts the Double Decker Arts Festival. Oxford’s largest spring event draws a crowd of 65,000+ people from near and far to the historic downtown Square for a weekend of food, music and art. This two day celebration is one of Mississippi’s largest festivals.

Picayune Spring Street Festival

This festival will kick off on April 5, 2025 and run through April 6, 2025. Bring a friend, family member, or go alone. There will be plenty to enjoy such as plenty of art, antique cars, vendors (new and returning), as well as live music. One of the standout features of this festival is the beautiful antiques that attendees have the opportunity to view and shop. What a wonderful way to celebrate the spring!
