Whether you’re looking to visit the Mississippi Gulf Coast or you’re just in the mood for a staycation, The Roost Boutique Hotel in Ocean Springs is the perfect place for you.

The Roost is a mesh of both history and modernization, ultimately combining for a must-stay hotel. I mean there’s a reason it’s been named the “Best Designed Hotel in Mississippi” as well as “The Most Beautiful Hotel in Mississippi.”

Walking distance from both the beach and the quaint yet electric downtown area of Ocean Springs, owners Jessica and Joe Cloyd and Roxy Condrey could not have picked a better location for their hotel.

“To be able to walk down the sidewalk to the beach and to downtown works perfectly for tourists to get a feel for what we really have to offer in Ocean Springs,” Joe Cloyd said.

One of the more historical aspects of The Roost is its connection with Mississippi artist Walter Anderson. Each of the 19 suites is named after an Anderson print. And the cool thing is that instead of a run-of-the-mill room number, your room has an etched piece of wood with the specific print and its name.

With live oaks surrounding the property and wood accents preserved from its original state in 1894, The Roost radiates history.

“Coming up with the concept of the hotel, we really put a lot of emphasis on looking into what makes Ocean Springs special,” Condrey said. “Art, history, and culture are the things that stand out in Ocean Springs, and we want guests to experience that.”

Guests also have access to the beautiful porches and gallery spaces completed with rocking chairs and plush reading loungers, making it the ideal place to grab a cocktail and open up that book you’ve been meaning to read. Even if you’re not a guest, you can still come and enjoy the restaurant and bar area.

As The Roost continues to grow, the renovations also continue as a state-of-the-art pool is set to open by the end of August. Check out the photo gallery below, and you’ll for sure want to go ahead and book those reservations.
