The Chevron Pascagoula Refinery partnered with DonorsChoose to gift every certified teacher in the Moss Point School District $150 in DonorsChoose funding for classroom supplies and projects. This gift is a token of appreciation and a testament to the tireless efforts of teachers in shaping the lives of their students. Chevron’s recognition of their dedication and commitment to education indicates their pivotal role in shaping our community’s future leaders.
Moss Point School District has maintained a B rating this year, and several individual schools saw significant improvement in student proficiency. MPSD is also ranked #1 on the coast for college and career readiness and goes to great lengths to prepare students for a successful future.
“Moss Point has had such a tremendous year,” shared Katarina Scott, External Affairs Representative, Chevron Pascagoula Refinery. “Not only did the district maintain its B rating, we saw several schools make great gains in proficiency. We’re proud to partner with DonorsChoose to thank teachers for the work they put in every day to make our students the best that they can be.”
It’s no secret that teachers give so much of their time, talents, and often their own money to fund classroom room supplies and projects. Chevron and DonorsChoose are providing opportunities for students at MPSD while supporting teachers who work incredibly hard to ensure student success.
“It makes me extremely happy to have this $150 to go towards my DonorsChoose project because I do have several up right now, ” shared Georgia Ricard, a first grade teacher at Kreole Primary Elementary School. “To be able to put this towards one of my current projects to enhance my children’s learning, it’s overwhelming and it’s so exciting. Thank you, Chevron, for this generous donation and DonorsChoose for donating this to enhance our children’s learning. They deserve the best, and with this, they can get those extra activities.”
