July is just around the corner, and we’re ready to herald in the month with lots of red, white, and blue festivities, fireworks, and many events to honor Independence Day.

If you don’t have your plans finalized yet, don’t worry! There are many exciting and fun events throughout the Magnolia State.

Break out those flags and red, white, and blue outfits, and celebrate! Here are some premier events honoring the independence of our wonderful country.

Fourth of July festivities throughout The Magnolia State: 

The Mississippi Gulf Coast offers a wide variety of celebrations sure to please everyone in the family. Events begin June 30 with the “Annual Our Lady of the Gulf Crab Festival” in Bay St. Louis. The event occurs daily until July 2. 

 On July 1, be a part of the 4th of July Mississippi Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo at Jones Park. This legendary event has been held since 1947!

If you’re a master domino player, take part in the Independence Weekend Dominoes Tournament at the Biloxi Civic Center on July 3. 

The Mississippi Aquarium is gearing up for a grand celebration to celebrate the birthday of the land of the free and the home of the brave. “The “Star-Spangled BANNER will set fourth after-hours featuring all your favorite aquatic wonders. There will be special animal ambassador encounters with these friendly creatures of the deep. At twilight’s last gleaming, guests are treated to exclusive access on the Aquarium’s lawn for prime viewing of the City of Gulfport’s firework display

Experience the 4th of July in Canton with Mississippi’s Championship Hot Air Balloon Fest. Enjoy great food, drinks, and live music by the Travelin’ Jane Band. Festivities begin June 30 with The Fest-Lanch Party at 6 pm. 

On July 1, at 6 am., the pilots test their skills in the Competition Flight at the Canton Multipurpose Center. Then enjoy the nighttime festivities, including Luckenback (a Willie Nelson Tribute Band), the Balloon Glow Flight from 7:30-8:00 pm., Dr. Zarr and the Amazing Funk Monsters take the stage at 8 pm., and play until fireworks begin at 9:30 with Patriotic Music featuring Temperance Babcock. On the 2nd, the Hot Air Balloon Fest continues with live music from Ralph Miller and Full Circle Party Band from 5 -9 pm. At 6:30, the Balloon Chase Run/Walk and Kids one Mile Fun Run begins as the Balloon Glow lights up the sky at 8 pm. The Good Samaritan’s $5,000 Golf Ball Drop Fundraiser begins. Fireworks illuminate the sky at 9 pm. Celebrate Independence Day with fabulous food trucks and fireworks at 9 pm.

Clinton invites you to enjoy Red, White, and Blues on July 4 from 5 -9 pm. at Raceway Park. This family fireworks extravaganza ensures good food, good times, good music from Eddie Cotton and Karekus Singleton, and fabulous fireworks.

Ember at Winter Area 4th of July Jubilee at Smith Park in Jackson. This yearly event brought to you by the small town of 300 shows the state how to celebrate Independence Day in a big way! Even though the town might be small, they know how to have a BIG time! There is a Kiddie Parade and a Grand Parade on Main Street. After the parades finish, visitors make their way to Doc Smith Park for a day of fun for the entire family! There will be plenty of kids’ games and inflatables, food vendors, live music, volleyball tournaments, horseshoe tournaments, bingo, pie socials, and so much more. The evening is topped off with a magnificent fireworks display at dusk!.

Laurel hosts Fireworks, Food Trucks, and Fun at the Remnant on July 2, starting at 5 pm. Local stores and shops will extend their store hours so you can enjoy shopping and dining. Several food trucks will sell so many delicious foods ranging from snowcones to hotdogs, cookies, lemonade, hamburgers, and so much more. Don’t forget your lawn chair and enjoy a great time at the Remnant close to the Sawmill Square Mall parking lot. The Rice Family, Mary Beth May, Chad Knight Band, and Big will bring live music to you. The skies will come to life with a dazzling display starting at 9:30. Enjoy the beautiful firework display as magical colors shower from the skies.
