Burger Burger has been a culinary institution in Biloxi since it opened in 1947. Its original location was on Benichi Avenue, an older section of town, where it prospered until 1993 when it closed. In 2001, it reopened on Howard Avenue and has since regained its reputation as a local favorite.

The new location is in an old home, just around the corner from the police and fire station, so it has the same cozy atmosphere as the original location, also an old home. It’s a place where Burger Burger says, “You can get your grandma’s cooking.”

As its name implies, Burger Burger is famous for its burgers, but the daily specials are all made from scratch and all are delicious. The specials vary occasionally but the standards are red beans and rice on Monday. Tuesday is usually baked chicken and meatloaf, Wednesday is country fried steak and chicken alfredo, Thursday is spaghetti and meatballs and eggplant parm, and Friday is crab cakes and fried catfish.

The famous burger is served on French bread and is huge! Few people order a whole burger, and even half is a large meal. It’s a hand-formed ground chuck hamburger patty, cooked on a well-seasoned flat top and seasoned with garlic and black pepper and topped with mustard and onion and a secret gravy that is amazingly good.

The days are long gone when Biloxi was just a little fishing village, populated by blue-collar workers who labored in the seafood factories and boatyards. If you want a taste of old Biloxi, Burger Burger is the place to go. You will meet friendly locals and visitors who are looking for good food and love to take a look back at the past. Burger Burger is the cornerstone of the revitalization of Howard Avenue, which has been dormant for many years but is now bustling with restaurants and shops.
