One last prep football game remains in the state of Mississippi for 2022, and it takes place this weekend.

The Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, Dec. 17th at 11:30 a.m., at historic Milner Stadium in Gulfport.

Sixteen total players from the “Southern Six” in South Mississippi were chosen for the contest, and 15 of those players will participate. Gautier quarterback Kaden Irving was picked but chose to instead play in the U.S. Army Bowl in Frisco, Texas this weekend. He was replaced on the South roster by Harrison Central senior signal-caller Christian Turner.

Turner will team up with Quez Gross of Scott Central behind center for the South Squad. Gross is the only “Mr. Football” winner competing in the game, as he was honored with that prestigious title after leading his team to back-to-back Class 2A State championships. Gross accounted for almost 3,400 yards of total offense and 47  touchdowns this season as he threw for 2,817 yards and 36 scoring strikes and ran for 543 yards and 11 more touchdowns.

The following players from the “Southern Six” counties in South Mississippi were picked for that prestigious contest:
