Due to recent storms causing high flood waters, the 2024 En Plein Air Paint Competition will change venues. Originally scheduled to take place at LeFleur’s Bluff State Park, the event will now be hosted at the Flowood Nature Park in Flowood, MS. The event is taking place this Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Despite the venue change, the schedule of events will remain unchanged. Visitors can still plan on spending the day in Mississippi’s great outdoors and watch as these talented Mississippi artists bring scenes to life through oil, watercolor, acrylic, and pastel mediums.

Hosted by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and Pacesetter Gallery, this year’s competition will showcase 43 talented Mississippi artists from across the state.

Watch artists paint live at the park from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., then end the day at Pacesetter Gallery for the En Plein Air Wine and Cheese Opening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Artwork will be judged by renowned Mississippi artist and judge, Bill Wilson.

Visitors may purchase artwork throughout the day from the first stroke of the brush to after the pieces are complete, but sales are first come first serve so do not miss out.
