There is something about fall time in the South that makes you want to hit the backroads and spend a little time in the country. Plus, fall always brings lots of great festivals and fun for the whole family. To enjoy some of this fall time faire, you are cordially invited to come all the fun and adventure at the 13th Annual Mississippi Peanut Festival at Mitchell Farms in Collins October 1-2, 2022.

This is one of the most popular events every fall, and it seems that it continues to grow larger each year. When the Mitchell family started the festival, they wanted children and those that might not have spent much time in the country what a real working farm looked like, and it has expanded into so much more. You’ll get the opportunity enjoy over 75 vendors from all over the South, bringing gorgeous arts and crafts, delicious foods, and so much more.

The festival will include arts and crafts exhibits from some of the most talented artisans around. You’ll get the chance to browse and even by antiques and collectibles as a very special gift. There will be unique children’s clothes for purchase as well as gorgeous and unique jewelry. There will be lots of yard art that you’ll love to peruse and maybe even add to your own yard display at home. And of course, there will be a wide variety of some of the most delicious food from corndogs to funnel cakes and everything in between.

If you love running, you might want to enlist in the 4th Annual Peanut Festival Run for a Cure 5K hosted by the Swamp Donkeys at 7:30 am Saturday morning. All proceeds from the event benefit St. Jude Research Hospital. Plus, all participants will receive free admission to the Peanut Festival. Check out the Mitchell Farms website or Facebook page for more information on the different categories and more details about the race.

There will be live entertainment all day long and lots of fun. Take an old fashioned hayride around the farm and learn more about the history of the land. Take a stroll through their Tiny Town, that includes a fire house, court house, and other miniature buildings that the kids will love to explore. The little ones will enjoy the playground, and everyone will love the beauty of the farm. Plus there are lots of fun and games for the whole family.

The shining star of the farm has to be the beautiful field of sunflowers. Sunflowers of all shapes, sizes, and colors cover the field and raise their happy blooms up to the sun. This is always a popular place for families and couples to take pictures. It makes for such a lovely back ground.
