St. John’s Episcopal Church announces the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) fall choir program for children will begin on Tuesday, August 15. All young people in the community, kindergarten through middle school, are invited to participate. “All children- no matter their church affiliation- are welcome”, said by Cynthia Ramseur, Choirmaster.

The choir schedule is as follows:

  • Kindergarten through 2nd grade- meet at 3 p.m. for a welcoming snack followed by singing and movement until 3:45 p.m. 
  • Third thru 6th graders- meet at 4 p.m. to begin music theory; then rehearse with middle school group until 5 p.m. 
  • 7th Grade & up (with other choristers as assigned)- meet at 5 p.m. to rehearse with first group; then continue their music theory and rehearsal until 5:30 p.m. 

Choristers are expected to attend instruction once weekly and participate in the 9 a.m. worship service once every 4-6 weeks. There are no requirements or fees for membership other than attendance and a desire to sing.
