Discover the story behind the music with Songs and Stories, a free monthly performance monthly offering a glimpse into the creative journey of musicians. Personal and creative stories are shared before each song, making this hour-long delight is a rare opportunity to hear from these artists as well as meet them after the show.
The Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center hosts the event. This past show had Lisa Mills playing her Blues/Jazz style original songs. She shared family memories about a song written by her mother. Lisa later built a song around the meaningful words. “Song of Love” by Lisa Mills was performed for Songs and Stories. The entire hour offers a closer peek at the lives and insight to some of the best musicians playing the coast. Lisa Mills and her dynamic voice are always a crowd pleaser.
Songs and Stories is presented and funded by Mississippi Songwriters Alliance and The Feder Foundation. These events are free to the public. If you’d like to contribute donations are accepted. Music and art are an important part of life on the coast, be part of the local music community and visit one of the future events.
