Do you have the soul of a salty sailor or a dream of setting sail on the high seas?
If so, you’ve got a special invitation to hoist the Jolly Roger and partake in this weekend’s 8th annual Pirate Day in the Bay.
The event in Bay St. Louis is sure to be a swashbuckling good time that is all for a good cause. Hosted by the Mystic Krewe of the Seahorse, all proceeds will go to charities throughout Hancock County.
The good times begin on Friday at 4 p.m. with the opening of Pirate Central. At 5:45 p.m., grab your saber and pirate hat for the hearty Pirate’s Welcome. The Pirate Pub Crawl will begin at 6 p.m. and will lead buccaneers on a trail through the historic pubs of Old Town Bay St. Louis. There will also be a treasure hunt available to take those adventurous souls through local restaurants in search of loot. And of course, plenty of live music will be present along the way.
On Saturday, Cardboard Boat Races begin at 8 a.m. sharp. At 11 a.m., the Lil’ Bucaneers Parade will roll through. The Pirate Play Zone will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for kids to enjoy.
At 5 p.m., the Pirate Invasion Parade rolls through as treasure will be tossed all around. At 6 p.m., more live music hits the Bay thanks to The Topcats. To top off the evening, fireworks will cascade over the Bay for a perfect end to a perfect weekend.
Most events are family-friendly and free for all exempting the pub crawl, which is for just those 21 and over. For more information on this weekend’s Pirate Day in the Bay, click here.
