Crowds of pirates once again took over Old Town Bay St. Louis!

The Mississippi Gulf Coast town is flooded with celebration annually for the Pirate Day in the Bay weekend. With the weather so wonderful, the 2021 turn-out was the best yet. Kids, parents, locals, and visitors all seemed to enjoy the festivities. Many dressed like swashbuckling pirates and added to the spirit of the event. The entire town was a pirate party!

Bay St. Louis has a long history of being frequented by pirates as there’s even a historical marker that tells of Jean Lafitte and his fellow pirates who landed in the town as early as 1802.

“You got to love this little town,” resident Victor Martinez said, “Every place has pirates and a lot of people. Toss on your pirate stuff and come have some fun.”

Along with all the businesses joining the event, there was a pirate golf-cart parade and costume contests for both children and adults, making for a great weekend.
