A resident of St. Martin, Mississippi, Keith Wilson is a multimedia journalist and small business owner of Streetcar PR, which he began in 2013 while living in the New Orleans, Louisiana metro area. As a 2004 graduate of the School of Mass Communication and Journalism at The University of Southern Mississippi, Keith earned a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism. He also holds a Master of Arts in higher education student affairs from The University of Mississippi, where he graduated in 2007. He is a multimedia journalist covering city government, tourism, casinos, features and human interest news through Streetcar PR and posts #yourlocalnews on his professional page: facebook.com/MMJkeithwilson. He also does freelance journalism for the Sun Herald. Keith’s past media experience includes working as a multimedia journalist for The Biloxi-D’Iberville Press and a news content specialist and front desk operator at WLOX-TV. During his time with the weekly newspaper, the Mississippi Press Association honored Keith with multiple honors in its Better Newspapers Contest, including a third place Phillips Freedom of Information Award in 2017. He was most recently recognized as 2019 Media Partner of the Year by Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers. He is active as community leader across Coastal Mississippi, currently serving as president of the North Bay Civitan Club of D’Iberville-St. Martin and the D’Iberville Historical Society. He is a board member for Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers and is the immediate past board president for the Mental Health Association of South Mississippi. Keith also served as vice president of public affairs for the Biloxi Bay Area Chamber of Commerce in 2018-2019. And he is a member of Hibernia Marching Society of South Mississippi. In addition, Keith served seven years on the board for the Gulf Coast Metro Chapter of Southern Miss Alumni Association, and one year as a member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community Leadership Council for the MS-AL Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. A four-time recipient of the outstanding club president recognition from the Magnolia District of Civitan International, Keith also was recognized as the City of Biloxi’s 2010 Outstanding Community Volunteer of the Year.3 Articles
