Mardi Gras season is in full swing, and it’s a great time for anyone to enjoy and celebrate the Carnival season. Whether you’re decorating for a Mardi Gras party or want to bring some fun and color to your home or office, we’ve got a few tips for you to show your Mardi Gras spirit to the world.

Make sure you decorate the trifecta of colors that are traditional Mardi Gras colors: purple, green, and gold. Each color has a major significance. Purple symbolizes justice, green represents faith, and gold symbolizes power. So make sure that your decorations represent this major color scheme.

Purple, green, and gold balloons are fun decorations for a Mardi Gras party for the kids and the whole family. If you’re throwing a party, a metallic backdrop in these colors would make for a cute and fun makeshift photo station where you can take fun and crazy pictures of your party goers. Colored or white lights are a great accent for the backdrop and in your decorations.  Fun props, such as Mardi Gras colored boas, glasses, signs, and lots of beads are essential for the perfect shots.

Since we mentioned beads, always remember you can never have enough beads at your party or in your decorations. Beads and lots of them are essential to any Mardi Gras decorations or celebrations. If you have a small tree or left your Christmas tree up but just took down your ornaments, beads are always a quick and colorful way to deck out your home or office or wherever you are decorating.

Masks in the Mardi Gras scheme are always great for your decorations and are even more elegant and fun with feathers and lots of glitter. A cute centerpiece for your table is to attach a stick to your masks if they don’t already have them and place them in a vase or colored container and accent them with beads, flowers, or whatever you like. Of course, you will need a king cake for your party, even though it might steal the show, toss a few golden, green and purple doubloons around your cake and table decorations. Add a little more style to your centerpiece by getting some small glasses or clear candle holders and fill the bottom with some Mardi Gras colored sparkly confetti. Top that off with some battery-operated candles, and you’ll add a little more glow to your ensemble.

For your outside decorations, deck out your porch with Mardi Gras spirit. Lots of lights and green, gold, and purple garland are perfect accents for around your door or swagged along your porch railing. Decorate a wreath with some beads, jester masks, and maybe some Mardi Gras themed ribbon, and your front door will be ready to welcome in all Mardi Gras celebrations. Mardi Gras flags and yard decorations will definitely get everyone into the Mardi Gras mood.

No rules apply to your Mardi Gras decorations. Let your creativity be your guide and have fun! Just deck out your location with lots of purple, green, and gold and lots of beads, and you will create a fun and beautiful display to show off your Mardi Gras spirit.
